
Julie Ellen "Tawny," Kitaen was an American model and actress. She was born between May 7th, 2021 and August 5, 1961. She began her career as an actor on television, appearing in the television movies Malibu (1983), California Girls (1985). She also appeared in the comedies The Perils of Gwendoline and Bachelor Party (both 1984) along with the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen was well-known for her appearances in metal music videos that featured heavy metal such as Ratt's "Back for More", Whitesnake "Still of the Night", and "Is This Love" (all 1987). Kitaen also appeared on reality television shows like Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) and The Surreal Life (2006) that detailed Kitaen's struggles with substance abuse. Kitaen was born Julie Kitaen in San Diego, California in 1961, the eldest of three children born to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) she was a housewife, and once a beauty pageant judge, and Terry Kitaen, an employee of a neon signage company. Kitaen was the daughter of a Russian-Jewish dad and a Scottish mother. Kitaen was educated Jewish. Kitaen started using the title "Tawny" at the age of twelve years old, on her own initiative. As a child she was diagnosed with dyslexia, which led to her dropping out of Mission Bay High School. [7] At the age of 14 with backstage passes after an Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium, she was able to witness the privileged treatment given to Frampton's lover Penny and wanted to be a part of the same for herself.
